With the water play season upon us, try adding a water wall to your outdoor play space!

Start with some sort of “wall”. This could be a trellis attached to a post or tree to make it sturdy. Or you might use part of your fence or lattice wall.

Then collect a variety of parts for the water to move through – funnels, tubes, recycled containers, bath toys, or anything like that through which water can flow.

Next attach the parts to your “wall”. Pipe cleaners or florist’s wire work well as you can easily rearrange the parts, and zip ties are another option.

Now pour in the water! See where the water is escaping the containers and adjust the arrangement of your parts. Place a bucket under the wall so you can reuse the water. Experiment with making different watery paths!
