As the school year begins, the practice of writing haiku through the seasons can be a wonderful way to record the changes.

Here are a few haikus written by our Four Winds Naturalist Educators:

Hazy August dawn

Zig zag zip chase hover sip

Hummingbird rhythm

Single black cricket

Loves singing, dancing, night life

Seeks music lover

Droplets collecting

Worldly travelers unite

Kerplop! Where to next?

Sandwiched between leaves

Snuggly munching round and round

Then it’s time to fall

April sun is bright

Moon shadow dims midday sky

Light again. Eclipse.

Phenomena awe

All day collaborating

Hooray for today
