“It’s sticky”, “It’s gooey”, “I like it”…..”It’s MUD!”
-Preschool and Kindergarten students, Barrington Early Childhood Learning Center
Mud has the magical ability to incite language and spark imagination and curiosity. It can be soup, coffee with mint leaves, a wedding cake, or a carefully stirred wheelbarrow full of chocolate. Mud can inspire these thoughtful creations or one can simply use mud to dig, scoop, pile, and dump endlessly.

Mud can be an artist’s muse to create mud faces and a potter’s clay to construct a special home for a creature.

It can simply be a place to squish your feet in and out, feel the light downward tug on your boots, and hear the satisfying squelch when you succeed in getting your boot freed.
It can be an adventure when you walk into an especially muddy spot, never knowing when your boot might truly get stuck, almost hoping it does.
Happy mud season to all, spring has truly arrived.
